Technology
At Wabasha-Kellogg Public Schools, we believe technology is a powerful tool for learning, creativity, and connection. Our Technology Department is committed to providing students, families, and staff with the resources and support needed to use technology safely, responsibly, and effectively.
Device Purchase Program
- Each year, all 7th and 10th grade students (as well as any new students in grades 7–12) are eligible to receive $150 toward the purchase of a new computing device for school use.
- The device must be purchased between mid-summer and the start of the school year.
- Families may choose one of the following options:
- Option 1: Purchase a basic Chromebook directly from W-K. This device includes a three-year accidental damage warranty. The $150 discount will be applied to the final retail price.
- Option 2: Purchase a Chromebook or laptop from any retailer. A copy of the purchase receipt must be submitted to W-K to receive a $150 reimbursement. (It is strongly recommended that families purchase a warranty for the device.)
- Refunds will be processed together, typically in late September.
Device Options for Other Grades (8, 9, 11, and 12)
- Students in these grades, along with 7th or 10th grade students who do not purchase a new device, may:
- Rent a Chromebook from W-K for $60 per year (includes accidental damage coverage).
- Provide their own Chromebook or laptop for school use.
Required paperwork and payment for renting or purchasing a Chromebook from W-K can be completed online using JMC.
