School Resource Officer

Wabasha-Kellogg Public Schools partners with local law enforcement to provide a School Resource Officer (SRO) who supports a safe, positive, and welcoming learning environment for all students and staff.

The School Resource Officer serves as a trusted resource within our school community by building relationships with students, providing safety education, supporting prevention efforts, and collaborating with staff and families.

Role of the School Resource Officer

The SRO works to:

  • Build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Promote a safe and respectful school environment
  • Provide guidance and support to students
  • Assist with safety planning and emergency preparedness
  • Provide education on topics related to safety, responsibility, and decision-making
  • Serve as a connection between the school, families, and local law enforcement

Building Relationships

A key part of the SRO role is being present and approachable throughout the school day. By connecting with students and staff, the SRO helps strengthen trust and encourages open communication within our school community.

Partnership with Our Community

Wabasha-Kellogg Public Schools values the partnership between our schools, families, and local law enforcement agencies. Together, we work to create a safe environment where students feel supported, respected, and ready to learn.
