P-EBT (debit cards for families to buy groceries)

The Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Department of Human Services are working together to provide free debit cards for groceries for qualifying families to assist with food needs during the pandemic.

Some of our WK families received this benefit last year at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. To receive this free debit card, families DO have to have submitted an application for free or reduced meals to our school this year, and they have to qualify for free or reduced meals this year.

A free/reduced application can be accessed here. If you are not sure if you already submitted one this year, or if you need a paper copy mailed to you or sent home with your child, please contact Food Service Director Kristi Kropp at 651-565-3559, ext. 204 or

P-EBT cards will be mailed to families, benefits will be retroactive to September, and will be calculated based on the amount of time spent in distance learning. Your free/reduced application needs to be received at school during the month of February in order to receive a P-EBT card in the first set mailed out in March.
